Bothersome: causing bother; troublesome

It has been a long, bothersome week. Not for any reason in particular, just because. My acting class has been super stressful and my teacher is terrifying to a point that I can't wait for this class to be over. Which is sad, cause I love to act. I just don't like... the class. I started Camp NaNo at the beginning of this month and it has been the worst first-week-of-NaNo I've had in a really long time. I seem to be in a writing funk. So I tried to sit down and read Raven Boys and instead I started crying for some bizarre reason and gave myself a headache so I couldn't read anymore. This has been happening with all my reading material. Have you ever been so tired and emotional you just can't read? Yeah. That's been my state for weeks now. Apparently I am in a reading funk too. So then I thought - LETS TRY A DIFFERENT ANGLE!!! - and I tried to start my second Conspiracy of Thrones book. I didn't get far. I have some major WWII stuff to dig into.

Yay.

Sorry guys. We had the time change so I'm tried and kind of cranky and on top of that my writing computer is inoperable because it's plug is gone and without that it has like, twenty-minutes before the battery dies. And my other computer did updates all day so I couldn't work on my music video which I had planned to finish today.

It's still doing updates.

Then I pulled out my school binder and half of my lessons plans were water-warped.

And the last of my birthday chocolate got eaten by A Wee Person who shall remain nameless.

I'm not in a good mood right now.

I am Bob

Anyway, I figured it had been a while since I posted and I should probably wave or something to tell you I am not dead.

Yep. We've got a gif for that too.

Despite my frustration I am still working on my stories. I just don't have a personal computer anymore so it's going to take me a while to get stuff done on a borrowed one. Especially since the end of the school year is coming up and I do NOT want to fall behind. Seriously. Graduation guys. I'm gonna be GRADUATING.

I know, Rory. I know.

Graduation scares me. It means growing up and getting a job and trying to pursue acting and writing (FOR REAL) and I get this anxious knot and feel sick just thinking about it.

Pray for me!!!!!!!!

Anyway

Remember how I said I wanted Beta readers for my first Conspiracy of Thrones book? If you still want the book I will send it to a couple of people, but I can't give it to more than five. *sad face* I know. I'm sorry. It's just, I've been doing a lot of thinking an the thing is... I am going to try and Traditionally publish my masterpiece(s). So I need to be careful, ya' know? I don't want my story leaking out before its time. Also, I REALLY need editors. There is already one person who has volunteered to read as an editor, but if there are a few of you who just want to kind of critique it for fun, that would be great 8-) Email me!

bellawriter98 (@gmail.com)

I have family coming up at the end of this month!! I am excited! Please pray about that cause if all goes well they might be able to move out permanently. which would be EPIC.

I am also reading an odd book by G.K. Chesterton. I keep laughing to myself while I read because it is so strange and ridiculous. And now I'm saying things like "This person is most absurd, I observe, and altogether unintelligent." I'm not kidding. I don't even think before I speak, it just happens.

But hey I'm reading! Maybe I'm getting out of my rut!

PEACE OUT Y'ALL!!!

The Pro's and Con's of being a NaNo Writer

PRO: NaNo-ing forces you to write even if you don't feel like it, something everyone needs every now and then.

CON: You have to write for a long time every day and it's really, really hard.

PRO: You get to hide in your room all day and not be social and drink tea and wrap yourself in blankets because you're writing and you deserve it.

CON: My room is really really cold.

PRO: You get to crawl into bed and wear cool gloves while you write.

CON: The room is still really really cold.

PRO: You can yell at people when they open the door and then giggle about it

CON: You get super cranky.

PRO: You can threaten to write people you don't like into your book if they don't behave.

CON: this doesn't always work. Sometimes they just get mad at you

PRO: You get to write to your hearts content. All you have to do is say "IT'S NANO!" and your family will back off. (at least mine will)

CON: You start becoming editor-happy and have to force yourself not to hit backspace. Like EVER. And that is really, really hard. I hate my inner editor.

PRO: You get to spend a whole month creating and exploring characters

CON: My characters.......

PRO: You get those exciting moments where you just know that you have GOT this and you re going to finish and you're going to win and it's AWESOME.

CON: These moments of buzz don't last long.

PRO: This is November and everything smells good and it's just the right time of year to be inspired.

CON: Inspiration can be hard to come by. pretty soon your mind starts short-circuiting.

PRO: But it's okay! THIS IS NANO! YOU CAN WRITE FREAKING ANYTHING

CON: You stay up way longer than you should. Tip guys. Don't write and be on totally obsesed with a Fandom at the same time. It isn't good for you're blood pressure.

SLEEP IS DUMB

PRO: You get to tell people you are doing NaNo and watch their eyes get wide with horror and awe. "Wow!  Is it.... hard?"

"Nope. not all." *smirk*

CON: You Realize you have ten days left and you are on the finishing stretch and have no inspiration and you start panicking because you need 50,0000 words at the end of the month!

This is about the time you start to lose your already addled mind.

SCREAMS

PRO: You take a breath and try to remember this is just a writing boost for you and it doesn't matter if you don't finish. Just have fun. FUN!

CON: It's hard to remember that when you know you only have ten days left to reach your count.

PRO: You have hundreds of writing buddies doing this with you. You're not alone, you have help and support. YOU CAN DO THIS!

CON: Having Writers block. In NaNoWriMo.

PRO: I DON'T THINK YOU HEARD ME. WRITERS. BLOCK. DURING NANO!!!!

...............

PRO; It's Nano. And as awful as NaNo is amazing. and wonderful. and challenging. and exciting. You get to meet other writers. you get to write a whole novel and it's freaking EPIC.

HAVE A LOVELY WEEKEND! PEACE OUT Y'ALL!!!

November 4th

I am the queen of Better-late-than-never

as you can see it is NOT November 1st which was the first day of NaNoWriMo and the day I was going to post about my book. But it is still the beginning of November and I decided I'm going to share my plot with you anyway.

My NaNo story is going to be the first of a Trilogy. I am still playing around with names but right now my working title for said Trilogy is The Conspiracy of Thrones. I'm not sure what I'm naming Book One at the moment. I've stuck a few different titles on it but none of them seem to work so right now I'm just calling it Book One - Death.

On November 6th, 1940 Alex Gregory was meant to die.

On November 7th, 1940 Alex Gregory woke up. He witness a morning he never should have seen.

Okay so... Plot!!!!

This story takes place in an AU world which is almost exactly like ours except in this world creatures like the Demigods are actually real. It is the year before WWII and Alex Gregory is a sixteen year-old boy living in an America. On the sixth of November he has an accident and he was supposed to die in the hospital room. But he doesn't. He wakes up. And that is when everything changes. Soon Alex realizes just how serious his 'being alive' really is. He wasn't supposed to survive. Now the balance of the world has tipped and Death demands his life. Literally. Death is coming for him. And no one ever escapes Death, not really. It is a hunt. But as Alex runs from his nightmares and, with help from his friend Sean, tries to piece together the puzzle of his fate, the War that was once so far off starts it's break through the border. This is no ordinary War. Alex is about to find out that this War is not just between men. It is a War that stretches back into the dawn of time with beings far greater than humanity. And he is the only one who can stop it.

Time for applause you guys!

source
I'm not sure if that plot was very clear or not. Basically it is the year before the bombing at Pearl Harbor and no one is quite sure which way the war is going to go. This story is based VERY ROUGHLY on WWII. It is like a parallel WWII but it isn't going to be exactly the same. I'm just basing my events on some of the things that happened. My world isn't exactly Earth either. It is like earth if Earth had demigods and beings of great power and Death looks like a little boy with grey eyes.

The Thrones are Ancient Beings who were created at the Dawn of Time to protect the Virtue in the World. They were supposed to be the guardians of goodness and each one was given a certain element which they were supposed to protect.

Some of the Thrones abused their gifts. These Thrones poisoned the Virtue and turned it into Vice. These Thrones gained control of evil, each one holding the reigns of a certain Vice. This means that each Virtue has it's opposite Vice. There are Six main Virtues. Hope. Courage. Love. Love. Humility. Faith. And then there are Six main Vice. Pride. Fear. Spite. Rage. Despair. Deceit.

Destruction is the Throne who defied the Creator and tried to take the world for his own and tear it down to make it something it wasn't. Destruction is the beginning of Vice.

The Creator is not a Throne. He is greater than any Throne or Power and he is far greater than Man. He is the beginning of all things.

In my world not everyone believes in the Thrones. Most people don't even remember they exist. They belong in fairytales or on paper with the rest of that evil. but there are still some who remember the Thrones. They remember the first fight at the beginning of the world  and how he was beaten for centuries until finally he was able to rise up with the WWI and was barely stopped. And now he is rising again, and it hasn't been nearly long enough. Destruction is strong. They will need a hero to stop him. They will search the whole world for that one special person.

And they will find him.

Sooooooooooo yeah. I'm rambling now. Be kind. I'm tired and it's late and I did too much school today. I've also done too much write because I missed had a bad first day of NaNo and day two was just... not. So I've been catching up.

YAY ME!

I should wind this post up before I start babbling again but before I go I'm going to share a picture of me in all my Halloween Epicness

I was an amazing Bucky.

Just look at that arm. It is so cool. And it was so much fun to wear. And I loved it. I stalked about glaring at people and saying "But I knew him" all sad like. But mostly I just stood in the center of the room looking up from under my bangs and being menacing.

it was fun to be menacing.

Halloween is just fun. I like Halloween. I like helping the little girls dress up and I like that for one night in the year you can be as weird as you want and no one is going to think twice. You could be groceries as a penguin in a snow coat and no one would care. I like carving pumpkins and smelling caramel corn and okay, what other day of the year can you get so much free candy just by knocking on someones door and saying a fancy little kids rhyme?

And then of course there are the corny cartoons and The Night on Bald Mountain which is a must and staying up too late and keeping your costume on as long as possible Because Halloween.

Halloween is fun!! I mean sure it has it's down points but It's fun.

You know what else is fun? Falling-Back. I thought it was super late but then I realized it wasn't and I felt super happy because Fall-Back means this won't be an Almost-Wednesday post and that is nice.

Real quick, is anyone interested in doing a NaNo Blog party at the half-way point? does that sound like fun?

PEACE OUT Y'ALL!!!

Challenge Update + Snippets

Day Three of the Character Challenge:

A Character Everyone Loves That You Don't.

For Books

Frank from the Percy Jackson series. Most of the fandom seems to really, really love Frank, and while I don't HATE him, he and Hazel are my least favorite characters. (Not counting Nico. I HATE Nico.) Frank was pretty good near the beginning but in the last few books something about him got under my skin and he drove me a little crazy. He isn't a bad character or anything, I think he is just a little dull. And annoying. He's just not my favorite.

For Movies

Peter Parker. No, not the original Peter Parker, I like him. I mean the one from The Amazing Spider. I'm sorry, I really didn't like the new guy. He came off as arrogant and self-obsessed. He seemed selfish and caught up in his own wants and he broke a promise he made to a DYING MAN. Who does that????

For A TV Show

Castiel from Supernatural. The vast majority of the fandom LOOOOOVES this character and I really don't. I hate him, to be honest. He is a coward, he hates admitting that he's wrong or fixing his mistakes and he is a TERRIBLE friend. Like, seriously. He betrays both the brothers multiple times and then always acts offended that they don't trust him. What does he expect?? He lies, he snitches and he spies on them for their enemy. He always abandons the Winchester's when they need him most and at one point he causes Sam to have a complete mental break down - ON PURPOSE - and almost causes his death. It's amazing that Sam and Dean still think of him as a friend and haven't just given up on him by now. He doesn't deserve them. He is awful. I hate him.

It's snippet Time!!! I'm not going to put out a ton of my work today but I will share a couple of my favorite lines from my story. There will (hopefully) be more of these coming, especially once I start part two. I'm not sure how long that will be though. Anyway, I hope you enjoy these :)

Tyson propped himself up on one elbow. What, can you not sleep either?Michael shook his head. And here I thought I was the only one, said Tyson.
I didnt even know you were awake, said Michael.
I wouldnt be if you hadnt moved around so much. Tyson said. You make enough noise to wake the dead.

"Dimitri, wake up." Dimitri didnt move and his breathe grew slower and deeper. Dimitri, whispered Nightly sharply, "Youre faking! Stop it!
Dimitris eyes fluttered opened and he turned, grinning up at Nightly. I had you fooled though,he said.
"No you didnt.
Sure I did."

Clatter, clatter, clatter, came the noise again. This time it was followed by a low, soft scream and a hiss. Annemaries blood ran cold. She knew that call and her heart dropped.
Crocoan.

Oh I wouldnt call you honorable, cut in Peregrine. Tyson had bent to retrieve his satchel and at this remark he cocked his head and winked in Peregrines direction.
I dont know what you are saying. Im as honorable as they come. For a pirate that is,

There are a lot of people who arent very big on the prince, said Dimitri and he smiled at Peregrine. Its good to know youre not on his side. Otherwise I might have to get you out of the way.
Peregrine might have laughed but he wasnt sure if Dimitri was joking and he didnt want to take the chance.

"Curse your sudden but inevidable betrayal!"

Very late last night I finally reached 50,000 words. At first I didn't realize I had. I didn't see the number get jacked up, shiny and new like a beautiful present. But then I looked down and saw what had happened while I wrote. And I just sat there staring at the number for a little bit, realizing I had just written half 100,000 words. I would have jumped up and screamed but everyone was asleep so I had to content myself with grinning like a retarded seal and silently squealing in my mind.

Pinky Pie
I almost blogged last night to tell you all this glorious news but I was too tried and decided I could wait. Then I woke up this morning and I didn't feel very well. Which sucked. My boss told me to go home, so I don't have to work today. I am curled up in bed, typing away and feeling sleepy as I try to finish up English. I also want to do some writing today.

GO  ME!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! *Geico Pig Squeel*

I need to do a review on the Ascendants Trilogy sometime next week, but I don't know when.Maybe I'll try doing that on Monday. I really want to yell and make you all read it so you don't miss out, I just have no time now. But I will have it out soon, promise! I will try and challenge myself to a review. Reviews can be hard. *sigh*

Summer is finally here, but Winter seems to think it gets a free ride on our weather. One day we will be up in the 70's the next we are down into the 50's with a wind chill.

source

And yes, I know we had a lousy winter so I shouldn't really complain. But I only get three months of my summertime beauty. I want my heat. And My sun. And my warm smelling grass. Not wind and cold nights where you have to CLOSE THE WINDOW. that isn't summer. *Sulks*

I started up a new show. It is intense and it make me incredibly nervous and stressed and like

AAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAH!!!!!!!

I'm only on Season ONE guys. I bet I sound adorable. In fact, I know I do. I can tell it gets worse and worse and then it gets sad and sadder and sadder and....... why do I always pick fandoms that are emotionally traumatizing??  It seems to be my lot in life. Sad fandoms and characters that break my heart. (even my own story is starting to do that.) It is really good  though. Really, really good. I love it. It has brother stories and friend stories. How could I resist?

source
Now I am off! Have a lovely afternoon and don't kill yourself when you try to catch butterflies. They are stealthy and they WILL make you trip. I know this. You are warned. *Nods* Peace out y'all!!!

I have a brilliant friend (And other things)

Last night we were having an especially wild night, because my dad was out and we didn't need to worry about being quiet so as to not to wake him up. Which meant there was a lot of running around and shouting and general mayhem. And dogs barking and trying to bite your ankles. And nieces screaming out "FOR THE FIRST TIME IN FOREVER!!!!!!....." and playful teasing and shoving. And somehow, in all this, I found myself being chased down by a crazed older sister who was desperate to catch me and push me down for slapping her arm (Too hard) But I feared it would end up as more of a tickle-fight and less of a push, so I tore around the house, keeping my distance and finally resorted to bolting outside (no shoes) rush across the (wet) grass and tearing back around into the house to lock myself in the bathroom. I could hear Chloe outside the door, all too happy to aid her Treskie in capturing me, and telling me to open the door (with much giggling)

This is what it is like to have sisters.

You know another sisterly-thing that happened that night? I got a box!!!

Well, it was more a box addressed to several of my sisters. From a very dear friend (whom, by the way, is now my adopted sister, so she'd better get used to it)  And she had sent us some very lovely gifts which I immediately slipped on and admired and swooned over. And I was suddenly wishing for a cold spell that I could show them off in.
They are quite lovely gloves. And they are very helpful because my room is always really cold in the morning and I can really use some fingerless gloves so my hands wont freeze when I'm doing school work or writing stories. But when I wear them they make feel very Ranger-like. Like I need to run about in the forest, tracking Sméagol, climbing cliffs and hiding from trolls. They make me want to go on an adventure in medieval clothing with capes and swords. With my friend Jim at my side.

For now I have to content myself with being a Writer in them, because I can't be an adventurer at the moment, as much as I'd like to be.

While waiting for the second book in The False Prince Trilogy I am finishing the Gallagher Girls series.  Okay. I did not expect to get quite that emotional during these books. I mean, they were good but I didn't think I was that emotionally invested in them.

I was wrong.

I cried.

And I shook.

And I couldn't believe the horrible things Cammie Morgan was going through and I wanted to leap in to the pages and hug her. And Liz. I feel really bad for Liz. And I like Zach. Zach is funny and idiotic and he drives you crazy. But he is awesome and he is better than Josh.

WHY ISN'T THERE EVER ANY FAN ART FOR THESE AMAZING BOOKS???? (Glowers-at-a-certain-sister*) I NEED FAN ART!! GIVE ME FAN ART!!!!

I also need to read the last book, but she's buried in it right now so I have to wait.

Why isn't my Sage book in yet? **headdesk**

and guess what!! I have tons of school work to get done before June. Lots and lots. Which means I haven't been writing. *Cringe* I know. I'm a terrible person. I tried writing today, but it didn't work out. I have way too many Steve and Bucky feels to function. I don't know why I thought it was such a grand idea to watch Bucky die again after the trauma of Winter Soldier, but now it was WAY WORSE after you know what is coming.

I was literally in pain every time Bucky appeared on screen. I wanted to jump in and save him and protect him and make sure he never gets hurt again. But I can't.

Why am I am so obsessed with fictional characters?? Its not fair! Especially since the characters I love are always getting maimed or murdered or worse. INCLUDING MY OWN!!! I think my fandoms are rubbing off on me. I wrote something so terrible I haven't  been able to write for a week. Every time I try to I cry. And that's no a joke. I even cried at the writing group. I think I'm too emotionally invested in my story. AND MY FANDOM FEELS AREN'T HELPING!! I will write, and then backspace, and then write, and then backspace.... and then I give up and type feverishly that Bucky has lost his memories and the Doctor has changed and Sam and Dean aren't brothers and Thor thinks Loki is dead and Sherlock is on HIATUS, and Sage is ...... and Cammie is..... and NEAL IS DEAD AND I CAN NOT COPE!

I am 99% done with Once Upon a Time. I don't think I've ever been this upset with a TV show... ever. Not even when its done by Moffat. They killed my favorite character and the only reason I'm still watching it is because my little sister LOVES it and can't bear to be without it.

and I also miss Rumple and Belle. I think their story is enough that I will finish OUAT for them.... but it almost isn't worth it, even FOR them. Because I know now that HE is dead, the other thing will happen that I hate so much and two people are going to get together and I didn't want them together and it makes me mad.

I need a life.

................

On the Upside, I got a lot of really lovely comments after publishing my lyrics. And that made me very happy. So thank you, all you nice people. It was good to get some motivational swing. You are all lovely and made me feel like I can write, even if it is just a little.

About the writing. I want to do Camp NaNoWriMo and try to get my blasted book done in a month.  But before I do that I need to finish school. Which means I need to stop gettind distraced while studying and actually do stuff. Not that I DON'T do stuff. Just... I should be doing MORE stuff. and I don't. Because I'm getting the Spring Mood and am getting very School-burnt-out. I have to keep reminding myself "This is 11th grade.... I'm almost done...." But its hard. So If I don't post for a few days, know it is with good reason.

That's all. Peace out loosers!

NaNo and Doctor Who

source
Can you tell its NaNo week? I can. I'm freaking out because November is drawing to a close and my 'NaNo' book is at a terrible place. I actually have been working on it, which is a big break-through for me, and maybe I'll make it, maybe I wont. All I know is come November 30th I'll know I at least tried.  Though if I don't finish then I'll probably curl up with my music, eat chocolate and try not to cry because I couldn't finish my epic story in time.

I MUST NOT FAIL!
My characters should be nice to me.

My characters are never nice to me.

Especially Iago.

Iago is evil.

But anyway I decided to be brave and share a snippet from my story with all of you. Its only fair that I give you a bit of an idea of what I'm working on, so.... BASIC PLOT!!!!

Iago and Beth are born at the exact same time on the exact same day in the exact same moment on the exact same place - in two opposite worlds. This enables them to cross between worlds, and even see  a second world beneath the layer of our own. Like seeing a reflection in a shop window. The two children end up meeting and start crossing together. But one of the times they cross something goes wrong and it shatters the balance between the worlds. what erupts will raise a breath-taking battle. And a choice.

Now for the snippet. This is the only bit I feel brave enough to share right now, the rest is still to close to me. I wrote it half-asleep so be kind. Its pretty .... hard.

For Becky it was a new experience. She felt the wind striking her hand and touching her eyes in slow motion, she felt the touch of the cold snows on her hands and the taste of salt on her lips. Though her passing between worlds was fast, she had never spent so long in a moment – it was as if her second in time had been slowed to days, even weeks, but was over as fast as a well-earned holiday. In a cascade of color the world cradled her body, turning in through its vortex of emotion with all the constellations laid out before her. She was suspended, nothing but a tiny creature in a world of monsters. She could feel the weight of the universe crushing her being and driving her spirit out, the immense volume of the stars dancing in her eyes and blinding her. Her head swam as her identity was slowly pulled from her reach and she fell, a helpless rag doll, into the pitiless world below. Darkness washed over her in a wave, first here eyes, than her ears and last her eyes. Nothing remained. Nothing.

The girl awoke. Her eyes blinked heavily and her body stirred, more through instinct than through her will. She felt heavy as one would when returning from a long swim. Her hair hung about her shoulders in limp folds, her hands were numb and stiff and her legs were strangely leaden. She rose slowly and glanced about her. She appeared to be in some sort of enormous0 cave with many tunnels. A strong, silver light came from above, casting the world into a type of crystal-like realm. Silvery, ice-like trees were all about her, though weather they were blew and appeared silver or silver and appeared blue, She did not know. The ground under her feet felt unstable but she could not get a look at it, for there was a heavy fog lining the earth. The beauty of the forest was all about her, odd sounds echoed off the cave walls and mumbled back to the trees below, soft but resounding and full of life. Lights shone among the leaves and pieced the forest lands, only to be suddenly snuffed out by the vicious fog below. There were many small, winged creatures that would swoop low over Her head, some silent, some calling out an ever-strange tune which joined the other echoing sounds that occupied the forest. In the shadows where no light struck, odd figures darted in and out, some almost human-like, but She could never see them properly. They were too fast, perhaps timid. It was a beautiful wood, but there was something not quite right about it. Everything, though lit up, was shielded and cold; this was a place that wished to be left alone. And rightly so. Nothing from the Real World belonged here. This land ghoulish and unreal, bending in and out of focus, nothing  appearing to have a permanent form of its own. It made no sense in the realities of our own world but here it made sense in itself and was in perfect harmony with the order of its nature. She felt different here. Different? Is that what this could be called? To be so fragile but stronger than ever and so fake but more real than she’d ever been? She was cut off, almost as if She were somewhere else and was watching but a shadow of herself, stumbling alone in a forgotten world. Here it didn’t seem to matter who you were, where you’d been or what you were heading to. All that mattered was that you were here, now, and free of any bond. Why, you could do as you pleased here. The girl fancied you could do just about anything you wished. She reached out her hand and touched one of the trees. She bent it to her will, and it did as bid, melting away into a shower of rain drops and rushing off her fingers, frilling itself out as butterflies and becoming lost among the trees above. A small, intent smile played on the girls lips. Her eyes shone with a clear, bright light, and her hands trembled in anticipated excitement. From behind she saw a tall, long form, peer at her from behind the trees. The minute she laid eyes on it, it scampered off through the trees. She tilted her head and the forest branches bent back for her, opening a path. She pocked the gold watch started off after the figure. It didn’t matter why she wished him. What mattered was, she did.

Sound okay? its a rough-draft, but what do you think? horrible?

I think its horrible.

*sigh*

Anyway.....

I feel super bad because I've been terrible about blogging since the 30-day song Challenge was finished. A lot of the reason is because I don't have my computer right now. Another reason is because.... I don't have much to blog about. Its been pretty quiet at my house, though we've had a semi-vacation these past couple of weeks. Not away from home or  anything. See, my dad went out of town. So we've been a bit more....Epic Weird these past couple weeks. We've been having girl time. I'll be sad when its over. I love girl time. Its so much fun.

Before I toddle off and give the lap-top I'm typing on back to its rightful owner, I have something exciting to announce. November 23rd is Doctor Who day, and the 50th Anniversary will be airing that night. And because its the FIFTIETH ANNIVERSARY I've decided to do a Doctor Who Weekend. Starting Thursday I'm going to have a Doctor Who Semi-blog-party. Anyone can join. Anyone can be a part of it. There aren't many rules. Just blog about anything you want, whether it be favorite companions, best episodes, greatest Doctor, fun facts, costumes, or tags. You can do whatever you feel like, just so long as its Doctor Who related. I'm going to go all Whovian. And its gonna be awesome. Cause it'll be me. And when I fangirl, I'm get SERIOUS.
Now I'm leaving. I hate to go, but I was supposed to be off some time ago and its nice of the person to let me blog on their technology at all. So be glad to have heard from me. Not everyone is so lucky!

God Bless!

Why We Love Food

I'm an Italian. This means that I grew up knowing that the Kitchen is the most important part of the house. Its the room where all the magic happens and without it we'd all be a bunch of sad, starving, worthless humans. For me cooking and baking have always been a big part of my life and the thing to look forward to during any big event. Seriously, if we want to have a nice day it always ends with food, food and more food. That's just always how its been. But I notice that quite a lot of people don't understand my family's obsession with food. I mean, for pity sake, even our songs have food in them!! They don't understand our love of cooking or why we are so scandalized when they say gnocchi and ravioli are basically the same thing. They don't understand that the recipe is more a guideline than an actual rule-of-thumb. My family cooks by taste, quite a lot. We like to experiment, make new foods and desserts and taste luscious sauces while listening to Josh Groban. We throw a little spice here, add a touch of salt there, put a pinch of garlic here, taste, stir..... mmmm maybe some thyme?

And when we serve said meal and a friend asks 'How did you make it?' we're like......

WITH TALENT!!!!

Basically, my family loves food. You give us food and we're happy. If you walk through our door with brownies or scones or breads, we'll accept you instantly. And if you come empty handed, we'll  soon fix it. Company walks in and we're like "TAKE OUR FOOD!!"

People who don't understand this infatuation probably just don't get Italians. Its not so much the food. I mean, we do love food, of course. But its also sort of our heritage. Its our tradition, our life style. Its...... Ugg, what's the word I'm looking for? Help me out guys!! I begins with C, I think.

AHA! Culture!! That's what it is! the food is our culture. Its sort of who we are. like Americans and baseball. Sort of.  And, in my opinion, Italians have got it right. Food makes everything better. As for our music, what's wrong with having a little flavor to our songs? We just love food ok! We love food!!

Cooking and baking has just always been a big thing in my family. I grew up sitting on the counter watching some older sister or work with food and doing my part by dumping in the flour or tossing in the spice. I would watch them imagining what I would bake when I grew up. Maybe that's why it upsets me so much when most of what I make turns out wrong. I figure its because I'm too distracted. My mind is too full of magnificence, I need to clear a little area for the splendor of cooking. I want to be a good cook. I don't even have to be great. Just good! Or even, pretty good! Its rather sad when you pull a treat out of the oven and its become.... not so treaty.

Yeah, that's always a bit depressing. That's when I like to think, 'Oh well, There's always a sin to do penance for.' Or, if I'm in a bad mood and that treat was suppose to cheer me up, 'Fine! I'll just have my peanut butter crackers and tea, watch Doctor Who and be happy! I will rise above this!'

I guess the reason I did this is because so many people I've met in the past months, weather online or off it, don't understand Italians and I felt like stating that we are normal, on the whole, and not crazy chefs who bake all day. That's just my family.

*Grin*

NaNo is going OK, better than I thought it would. It would be easier if I had a COMPUTER. That would be nice. Writing with paper sort of sucks. OKAY I SAID IT! SHOOT ME!! Computers are just easier. Plus most of my story is on my laptop. So.... that's a big thing. I will say NaNo has forced me to do a few things. I've taken a character out of my story and revised the beginning. I feel kind of bad about that, but Peter couldn't stay. He just couldn't. He was getting in the way, and as much as I loved him he needed to go. I'll put him in his own book, I'm sure he'd like that. I'm hoping by  next week I can start sharing snippets and scenes from my book. This is my goal. It will make me want to finish my book, knowing all you know I'm writing again. It gives one kick. And knowing what I'm trying to accomplish, a whole book in thirty days, it causes me to have these bizzare mood swings. First I'm like...
And Then I'm like...

And people wonder why writers go crazy.

We live in a world of MAKE BELIEVE guys. We're all mad here. *Chuckles Darkly* Mrhrrrhrrrhrrrhrrrrrrrr!!!!

I guess I'm liking NaNo. At least I get chocolates every week. Every Friday my writing group meets. And we get chocolate.

I LOVE chocolate.

I would go on for longer, but I am still waiting for my lovely laptop to be returned to me and I'm using a borrowed computer to type this post. Also, I'm stuck using Internet Explorer for the time being. Have you ever tried blogging on Internet Explorer? Its a BENCH you guys. A TOOL BENCH! It is so incredibly picky and obnoxious. If it was just the speed, I wouldn't mind, its fairly quick once its loaded. But the pop-ups? The Pop-ups are a freakin pain! You click an image. POPUP! You click a link. POPup! you open a new tab. POPUP! You try to copy something URL. POPUP!!!!! You press play on a youtube video. POPUUUUP!!!!!!  Its so infuriating! By the end of the day you're just like.

I will use Internet Explorer for many things, but when I get my computer back I'm using Chrome for blogging. Just for the blogging. That's safe. *A PROFESSIONAL SAID SO* I. Can. Not. Wait.

A bit of Everything. Oh yes, and that

I love it when you wake up on Saturday morning and realize that, not only is it bright in your bedroom but you have gotten another hour of sleep. And you get absurdly happy. Nothing like that extra hour to make life amazing.

I think its going to be a good week. I'm a little freaked out right now actually, because I did something very brave. I decided, against all odds to participate in NaNoWriMo. Or at least, try. This was a big thing for me because lately I have been feeling wretched as a writer. In fact I almost gave up writing altogether. I hated my work and everything I was creating. I hated my characters, my ideas and my collection of scribbles that never made it to "THE END." I was just not in the mood to pick up paper and pen. But then November firs rolled around, and somehow I was picking up one of my poor deserted books that have been so patient with me, and flipping through its pages.  I realized that I actually had some good stuff to work with. It wasn't the stuff of legend or anything but it was pretty good. It just needed some touching up and...... editing. I took a leap, and now I'm doing NaNo. Because I'm a fool and have no life.

Sometimes I wonder if I'm insane. Or maybe I just like traumatizing myself. Because Everything I've been reading or watching has been very upsetting.  My Fandoms are killing me. There's a lot of tears. And pain. and broken hearts. And overall sadness. And it feels like no sooner do I finish said show that I find one equally terrible and am like "Oh yeah, that show where the whole fandom seems to be going mad, that's the show for me!" And then I watch it. And my overall reaction is, "What is wrong with this show??? Why am I watching this show? I HATE THIS SHOW!! THIS SHOW IS HORRIBLE! WHERE IS THE NEXT EPISODE???

And all my friends are like

I wish I didn't get obsessed. I wish I wouldn't get so attached to fictional characters. Its like the writers are all in a secret conspiracy with Steven Moffat to destroy the lives of fans everywhere.

And the poor fans are just like "FINE! TAKE MY HAPPINESS! WHO NEEDS IT! I'M JUST GONNA SIT HERE, EAT COOKIES AND BE SAD! THIS WILL HAVE A HAPPY ENDING!"

Shut up Moffat.

*ehem*

Anyway... I want to say I'm sorry. I know my blog has probably been boring lately and I'm sorry for the excessive fangirling that's been popping up lately. When I start getting some of my book done I may give you all a nice little snippet or two, so look forward to that! I'm also gonna try and take that acting class.... again.. Which should be an adventure. I really hope it flies this time. I love acting :)

And before I go, I'm thinking of chaining my blog theme, because I don't really like how it looks right not and I want a winter-y one in honor of our first snow. Only half a year till it melts!*grin*  I wanted to know what all of you think. Should I change a bit? Do you like my blog the way it is? Suggestions??

Goodbye now y'all! I'm off to be traumatized by two of the greatest brothers in history! wish me luck!

God Bless!
