Bothersome: causing bother; troublesome

It has been a long, bothersome week. Not for any reason in particular, just because. My acting class has been super stressful and my teacher is terrifying to a point that I can't wait for this class to be over. Which is sad, cause I love to act. I just don't like... the class. I started Camp NaNo at the beginning of this month and it has been the worst first-week-of-NaNo I've had in a really long time. I seem to be in a writing funk. So I tried to sit down and read Raven Boys and instead I started crying for some bizarre reason and gave myself a headache so I couldn't read anymore. This has been happening with all my reading material. Have you ever been so tired and emotional you just can't read? Yeah. That's been my state for weeks now. Apparently I am in a reading funk too. So then I thought - LETS TRY A DIFFERENT ANGLE!!! - and I tried to start my second Conspiracy of Thrones book. I didn't get far. I have some major WWII stuff to dig into.

Yay.

Sorry guys. We had the time change so I'm tried and kind of cranky and on top of that my writing computer is inoperable because it's plug is gone and without that it has like, twenty-minutes before the battery dies. And my other computer did updates all day so I couldn't work on my music video which I had planned to finish today.

It's still doing updates.

Then I pulled out my school binder and half of my lessons plans were water-warped.

And the last of my birthday chocolate got eaten by A Wee Person who shall remain nameless.

I'm not in a good mood right now.

Anyway, I figured it had been a while since I posted and I should probably wave or something to tell you I am not dead.

Despite my frustration I am still working on my stories. I just don't have a personal computer anymore so it's going to take me a while to get stuff done on a borrowed one. Especially since the end of the school year is coming up and I do NOT want to fall behind. Seriously. Graduation guys. I'm gonna be GRADUATING.

I know, Rory. I know.

Graduation scares me. It means growing up and getting a job and trying to pursue acting and writing (FOR REAL) and I get this anxious knot and feel sick just thinking about it.

Pray for me!!!!!!!!

Anyway

Remember how I said I wanted Beta readers for my first Conspiracy of Thrones book? If you still want the book I will send it to a couple of people, but I can't give it to more than five. *sad face* I know. I'm sorry. It's just, I've been doing a lot of thinking an the thing is... I am going to try and Traditionally publish my masterpiece(s). So I need to be careful, ya' know? I don't want my story leaking out before its time. Also, I REALLY need editors. There is already one person who has volunteered to read as an editor, but if there are a few of you who just want to kind of critique it for fun, that would be great 8-) Email me!

I have family coming up at the end of this month!! I am excited! Please pray about that cause if all goes well they might be able to move out permanently. which would be EPIC.

 

I am also reading an odd book by G.K. Chesterton. I keep laughing to myself while I read because it is so strange and ridiculous. And now I'm saying things like "This person is most absurd, I observe, and altogether unintelligent." I'm not kidding. I don't even think before I speak, it just happens.

 

 

But hey I'm reading! Maybe I'm getting out of my rut!

Introducing the Baxters

I FINISHED A BOOK JUST A FEW DAYS AGO.

APPLAUD ME!

Yes, it's true. I finished A Conspiracy of Thrones just a few days ago and I am looking for beta readers!

*Cue panic attack*

I figure if I can get four or five people to look at my book for me then maybe I can get some feedback, do some editing and try actually publishing the thing.

Did I just say that? Publishing??

I  MUST BE OUT OF MY MIND!!!

So today I'm going to introduce The Baxters.

The Baxters are very special to me. I have always wanted to write a story about family. It's been on my bucket list for as long as I can remember. When I was ten I had several short stories about a great big family with a bunch of kids and I used to tell them to my sisters every night. They were fun stories. Lately, however, my need for a family story has gotten almost unquenchable. (HENCE RAVEN BOYS!) A few months ago I started writing up an outline for this family story I really, really wanted to write. It started out pretty simple but over time it has developed an actual plot. It is a little complicating but I'll try to be as clear as possible.

The story is set in our time frame in our world. Bri Baxter is a seventeen year old girl who lives with her three brothers in a great big house left to her family by some great aunt or an uncle or foster parent of a cousin's niece once removed... no one quite remembers how. The Baxters aren't a huge family but there are always a lot of people running around the house, because Mrs. Baxter let's a bunch of kids take her home as a place of refuge. Refuge is often needed among their kind.

The Baxters aren't a normal family. They are what some people would call Gifted, and others Cursed, and all would call dangerous. Among their kind they are simply called Elite. They Elite are a group of extremely talented humans who have the ability to do things no one else can. They are born with more brain capacity then the average human so they are able to 'bend' certain laws of physics and matter to their will. Some call it magic. Some call it sorcery. The truth is, it is neither but almost a combination of both. The Elite can channel certain levels of energy that are already in the air that normal humans simply can't process. They can make and break things of matter. They can shape waves.

There are many different types of Elite, each with different skill types. Different Elites channel into different energy readings and their brain responds differently as such. Because of this, the Elite have been separated into several different groups or Rodzina. The Rodzina act as a big Family. They are very loyal to each other and tend to have each others backs whenever it is really necessary. Most of them do this anyway. Some of the more dangerous ones act more like big city mobs. You stick together you STAY LOYAL or you get cut. 

Yeah. There are a couple extremists out there. 

The Rodzina are not close-knit at all times. It is just something you belong to, like a race or a heritage. You honor that and you respect it and everyone goes home happy. The Rodzina try to hide in the shadows, posing as normal humans to the outside world. Most of them don't mind the hiding - they prefer to not be well known. Some of the higher ones though, they are rebels. Always have been. They don't like hiding and they never have. They crave to come out into the open. 

The Baxters belong to a simple Rodzina. Their Rodzina all keep to themselves and are very peaceful and quiet, They're mostly healers and things of that sort and its easy for them to keep a low profile. 

There are six actual Baxters. Maggie Baxter, otherwise known as "The Missus" and her husband Damion Baxter (known as Damion) Then There is Sam Baxter who is twenty-four, Nick Baxter who is twenty, Bri Baxter who is Seventeen and Charlie Baxter who is twelve. There is also a Matt. Matt is an interesting story. I love Matt. Matt is nineteen and adorable and I love him. He is a Shifter. He is super cool. 

They all live in this big house, and Mrs. Baxter has a lot of room so she'll let the neighborhood kids come in and sleep whenever they need to. She takes anyone without a home, people who have been rejected by a Rodzina or who have just been accepted into one, or people who don't quite qualify as 'Elite' but should. Like R.E. Charlie's best friend. 

R.E. is... He is just.... He's kind of a dork. But he's a lovable dork. 

Then we have Jessica. Jessica is not a Baxter. But she is the reason there is a story. Jessisca is hit by the Baxter's car one night, and she is knocked unconscious. And when she wakes up there are patches of her memory just missing. whole weeks and months of her life. Certain names and faces. As if someone went through her brain and gently plucked just the things he didn't want her to know anymore. The Baxters help her find out who she is. And that is when the story really begins.


I realized how long this post was. I further realize I haven't really given you a plot, but I introduced my story, so think of this as the sneak preview. You'll be getting more probably. Maybe pictures. Maybe snippets. It depends on how fast I can get this thing plotted.

First Day of September

I haven't posted in almost two weeks. I bet you thought I died. Or dropped off the face of the Earth. Or escaped with The Doctor and have been running around saving worlds. Unfortunately it wasn't the latter. But I am alive! And I don't really have a good reason for the gap between my post except that it has been a very long, pesty twelve days. Sometimes life just doesn't.

Anyway.... LIFE UPDATE!!!!

My uncle is a priest and he's been up visiting so we've been having Mass every morning which is really nice. It gives a nice start to the day and makes you feel more optimistic about life in general. Something I need since I've been a bit moody and angst-y lately. Bright side! Angst means I've been doing a lot more writing lately. (and a lot more acting 8-D ) I'm researching for story set in the Ancient Roman times. It's going to be a friendship story and hopefully, if I do it right, it will be something very original and unique. I'll give you a hint: I checked out a lot of Gladiator books from the library yesterday.

I also checked out the first two books of the Raven Gate series, just 'cause. I've just finished book one. Hehe. Yeah. It was a bit disturbing, especially the ending. I almost stopped I was so disturbed. The only reason I kept going is because a few of my sisters have read the series and there are friendships in it and even though its traumatizing I NEED a friendship right now. I've been on a major friendship high ever since I read Brothers in Arms. It's a serious problem. I raided the library and checked out a bunch of friendships that I've never read, such as Raven Gate, Raven Boys (yes it's different) and the Peculiar. I don't know if its a friendship story but it sounded good. I need something to distract me. My dear friend Jack also sent me her Broken Blade Book which I am SUPER excited for. (She is seriously brilliant. Seriously.)

I watched Wreck it Ralph recently. It was so cute! I thought it would be this kind of silly show and I didn't expect much from it, but WOW! It was so adorable and sweet! It even gave me feels! If you want a fun cute story watch I would highly recommend it. It's really enjoyable.

School starts tomorrow. *sigh* I'm a little moody about this but this is my last year and I'll be done soon which is an encouraging thought. I'm going to try and make my last year worth while so during the school year I'm not going to be posting as much. I'll still try to do it once or twice a week but it won't be AS much. Also, I want to put my blog under construction soon and update it a little. Make it more me. If I'm not too busy... (haha.)
