This tag is sooooooooooo old.

I am late to the party, but hopefully doing this New Year's Tag will help me get back into blogging!

1.) What did you do in 2017 that you’d never done before?

I started a stick fighting class, got hired on at a new job, successfully wrote out the plot and songs for some of my musicals, took a piano class, moved, bought a new dresser, and visited my sisters in North Dakota for the first time in 12 years. *loooooooooooong gasp* Okay, I did a lot. Those were the good highlights 8-D *cough* Don't ask me about the bad.

2.) Did you keep your New Years’ resolutions, and will you make one this year?

Resolutions?
Resolutions?
What resolutions?

3.) Did anyone close to you give birth?

Um. Yes? I think a sister had a baby... I'm such a bad aunt, lol. I don't remember which month it happened in. I believe... April?

4.) Did anyone close to you die?

No.

5.) What countries/states did you visit?

I visited Dakota and Montana, because I went out to see my sisters! *boing*

6.) What would you like to have in 2018 that you lacked in 2017?

*cough* A license. *Cough*
*COUGHCOUGHCOUGH*
Oh, and a gun, but that won't happen until 2019

7.) What date from 2017 will remain etched upon your memory?

Prolly February 28th.

8.) Did you move anywhere?

AAAAAAH YAS! I moved into a beautiful little house with a few of my sisters. It's great, there are bedrooms, a nice kitchen, a lovely living room with space to visit - We even have a real fireplace! WITH ASH! IT'S AWESOME! SPAAAAAAAACE!

9.) What was your biggest achievement of the year?

I actually have no idea. I got a new job. Is that an achievement?

10.) What was your biggest failure?

I didn't make myself present online as much as I should have. And I didn't fulfill all my resolutions.

11.) Did you suffer illness or injury?

Nooooooooope. I live a rather unremarkable life. Lol.

13.) Whose behavior merited celebration?

Our sweet family friend Gavin, because Gavin is a good person. And my sister and brother-in-law, Regina and Dan. They were awesome this year. They're just wonderful, generous people, who are there when you need them and do what they can to help. *heart eyes*

14.) Whose behavior made you appalled and depressed?

You know the person I've mentioned the last few times at this point? Yeah, that person again. The name shall still go unmentioned :-[

15.) Where did most of your money go?

Rent, manga, and a freaking computer, and Christmas gifts.

16.) What did you get really, really, really excited about?

November 28th. *dances* That's when I went to see my sisters!!!!

if you are wondering if the second photo was edited, yes it was. 8-) I put a fancy brick wall behind us because the other option was super unattractive. ;-)

17.) What was the best concert you’ve been to this year?

I didn't go to a concert. :-) I saw a Dear Evan Hansen bootleg though, and it was great. I WISH I COULD HAVE SEEN IT ON BROADWAY! Why is New York so expensive? *dies*

18.) What song/album will always remind you of 2017?

I don't know if they'll always remind me of 2017, but the song that resonated with me this year was"Oh My Soul" by Casting Crowns, and the album would be "Dear Evan Hansen."

Oh My Soul, You Are Not Alone (gif)

19.) Compared to this time last year, are you:

Nostalgic. Wistful. So much changed this past year and I sometimes find myself getting stupid emotional about it. I have trouble with change - even good change.

20.) What do you wish you’d done more of?
Music

21.) What do you wish you’d done less of?
Being so anxious and emotional. 2017 was a hard sort of  year my friends.

22.) What was your greatest musical discovery?
Dear Evan Hansen, and Beethoven's Last Night.

No one deserves to disappear.

Your candle's quite low, we've been watching it burn.

I quite like Trans-Siberian Orchestra. Yes they are crazy rockers, and yes their musical style is strange (it's called Orchestral Metal. Weird, right?) But I love how faith-based and pro-life all their story's are. They're Pro-life at every point too, whether it be an old life or a young life, a broken life, or a life well-lived. I think that's a beautiful thing.

23.) How did you spend Christmas?

We had a sung Christmas Morning Mass (we sang it) and then the family got together at our beautiful new home for presents and food. It was a good Christmas, but a bit strange since it wasn't quite the same as usual. New house, new home... all a bit odd. 8-)

24.) How did you/are you spending New Year’s?

We watch The Lord of the Rings, and have agreed to do an annual rewatch. It's good to start off the New Year with Tolkien wisdom and encouragement!!!

25.) Who did you spend the most time on the phone with?

My sister Tiny, and my friend Ana.

26.) What was the best book you read?

YAS, THIS BOOK!!!!

Best new book would have to be Thick as Thieves by Megan Whalen Turner. Some others books that merit a mention are The Hollow Boy and The Creeping Shadow by Jonathan Stroud. I've yet to read the Empty Grave. *hides* The best reread would have to be the King of Attolia by Megan Whalen Turner, and Pandora Hearts, by Jun Mochizuci

Lockwood and Co

Pandora Hearts

27.) Did you fall in love in 2017?

Still no.

28.) What was your favorite TV show?

I haven't watched many new shows this year, except Hawaii 5-0, So, Fullmetal Alchemist: Brotherhood is still my favorite - although Marvel's The Defenders was pretty good, especially when Matt was on screen. I also liked Stranger Things, but I don't know how I feel about the ending of season two.

Bonus: Two shows I've officially boycotted would be Sherlock and Doctor Who (CURSE YOU MOFFAT!!!!)

29.) Do you hate anyone now that you didn’t hate this time last year?

I don't hate. lol. Uuuuum, no. The people I didn't like last year are still on that list and no new people have emerged.

30.) What did you want and get?

A Nice House, a dresser, a bed, a new computer, Dear Evan Hansen, and Beethoven's Last Night.

*I think I should add I did in fact have a dresser and bed before now, they  just weren't my dresser and bed.

31.) What did you want and not get?

A gun, because for some reason I can serve my country at eighteen with guns but I can't own one for personal use until I'm 21. Like.....why?

32.) What were your favorite films of this year?

My favorite Live Action was Spiderman: Homecoming and my favorite animated movie was Coco. Coco made me cry.

miguel is so cute. I love him. 8-)

(Oh, and I've seen Book of Life before. It's been a couple years but I still think Coco is different enough to hold it's own. It's like a retelling of the same myth, you know, but with a different plot/twist.)

33.) What did you do on your birthday, and how old were you?

My 19th birthday was a bit odd. I had a couple friends over, got an adorable card from Gavin, and watched The Giver. This year I watched The Rise of the Guardians, ate some delicious cake/brownie thing, and received beautiful fairy lights to decorate my room with. Plus Beethoven's Last Night which is an awesome album and brings out the electric-guitar side of me. The Lost Christmas Eve is still my favorite album that Trans-Siberian Orchestra does, but Beethoven is great too.

34.) How would you describe your personal fashion concept in 2017?

I was something between Bo-Ho and Casual.

35.) What kept you sane?

Prayer, my musicals, my books, my tea, my family and friends.

36.) Which celebrity/public figure did you fancy the most?

I didn't really fancy anyone, but there were a couple public figures that left me pleasantly surprised with their good choices and actions.

37.) What one thing would have made your year immeasurably more satisfying?

2017 was one of those years that I burned at Midnight on January 1st. Sooooooooooo.

38.) What political issue stirred you the most?

So Many. *le sigh* But I was particularly stirred when President Trump covered the March for Life. That was rather surprising, but in a good way.

Oh wait. That was this year. LOOOOOOL.

39.) Who did you miss?

Sammi, and my sisters.

40.) Who was the best new person you met?

41.) Tell us a valuable life lesson you learned in 2017.

This isn't technically a new life lesson, but it's one I was reminded of a lot in 2017. My family always comes together for meals, we sing and do music together, and generally just have good times in good company. I realize how rare that is the older I get, but I also realize how precious and important it is.

42.) Quote a song lyric that sums up your year.

"So when you're on your knees and answers seem so far away; you're not alone stop holding on and just be held. Just be held... find your rest in the arms of the God who won't let go." - Be Held, Casting Crowns.

43.) Five personally significant events of 2017:

       1. February 28th, because reasons
       2. Moving into a new place
       3. When I applied for a new job
       4. When I was asked to be my friend's Confirmation Sponsor. She won't be confirmed for a while but it's still a privledge.
       5. Visiting my sisters at their homes for the first time. (Last time I visited Gina she was in a trailer house. Long story.)

44.) Five things I want to do in 2018:

        1. Make music.
        2. Finish my musicals. (yep, this is still a goal in progress)
        3. FINALLY get my license so I can visit my friend Sammi.
        4. Do more Catholic Action
5.Buy a new rosary and a Saint Michael statue.

45.) Five people I’d like to know better in 2018:

Gavin. 8-) I'd like to visit my friend Ana and actually meet her in real life, so I guess she's one too. This question is stupid because I don't have five people to know better. 8-/ I guess I can still get to know Sammi. (????)

So now you're kind of caught up on my life 8-) ONWARD AND UPWARD!

In summary... 2017 was a hard year. It's up there with 2012 as a year of rough times. I had some special, beautiful moments, but also quite a few earthquake moments. It sounds like 2017 was hard for a lot of people, but God is ultimately in control and everything will be okay.

Here's hoping that 2018 is better than the years before it, filled with good times and good company. Eat, drink and be merry! Value good food and cheer over hoarded gold and be better for it.

HAPPY (late) 2018!!!!

 RULES!

Acknowledge the blogger who nominated you.

Answer the eleven question that the blogger gives you

Give eleven random facts about yourself

Nominate eleven other bloggers and let them know

Make eleven questions for them to answer

Bloggers that nominated me are Jackie-face and Treskie-face.

Okay. I'm doing the eleven facts first. Shut up. I'm obeying all the rules.

ELEVEN RANDOM FACTS:

1.) I love making music videos for my fandoms

2.) I am actually trying to be a writer this year. I don't know if I'm doing a great job but I am trying and that is a good start.

3.) I got a ton of fabulous make up for Christmas. I only had it a couple months and from one day to the next it disappeared.  It was sad. I had a sad.

4.) I prefer warm fuzzy blankets to robes

5.) I have a fascination with Gladiators

6.) My favorite pass time is vidding. I love vidding.

7.) My Favorite pass-time Other then vidding is reading and writing. I'm not a highly active person.

8.) I feel like I should be active more so I take my sister to the park a lot and run around with them.

9.) I love swinging on swings and singing the Winnie the Pooh song. Complete with the feet motions.

10.) I love Taylor Swift's new CD 1989. It is good. There are a few swears but it is good.

11.) I have fabulous pajama's with red and blue bubbles on them.

Jack's Questions:

1. Have you ever listened to the Snoopy vs. The Red Baron songs?

Hehe. Yes.

 2. What's tatters?

The word? If its the word than it means bits of cloth or clothing all torn and ragged. If it is Sam Gamgee's Taters, then it is Potatoes. 8-D

 3. What would be your opening lines to your Great American Novel?

"Never in all his life had he seen an elephant so huge standing in a house so small."

I don't even know.

 4. Are you over Tadashi yet?

So much sad

 5. How well can you crash a plane?

I've never tried to crash a plane as I am a bit addicted to my life but if I had to I would probably do it about as well as Tin-Tin.

 6. What color are the socks you're wearing right now?

*Peers at toes* Boring black socks. Very boring.

 7. What is the one thing you always carry with you and why?

An apple or chocolate granola bar because I am always hungry.

 8. Are you six foot something with a scary nose?

No. I am a tiny Hobbit child with a small cute little nose and un-intimidating features. It's annoying.

 9. What's the stupidest thing you ever done which inflicted pain on yourself?

This is a really weird question. Okay I got something. I used to play Mercy with my sisters. THAT GAME IS STUPID.

 10. Do foods which don't go bad scare you?

yes. They are inhuman.

Are you trying to poison me?

 11. How well do you get along with cockroaches?

We aren't on speaking terms since the incident with the moon.

Treskie's Questions

1.) Will you join me in my quest to destroy all the things?

*shuffles feet.* ALL the things?? Surely you can't mean ALL the things. That is a bit much... I will surely destroy some of the things. Certainly the most vexing things.

2.) Wizards or witches?

Wizards. Witches terrify me.

3.) Are sweet dreams made of these or are you one to disagree?

Ha! I don't DREAM.

just kidding. Of course I dream. Strange have been my dreams of late...

4.) Have you ever heard of Ninjago? (Apparently it's lego. I have yet to see it.)

Due to my friend Hannah I have heard of it. It doesn't much appeal to me though.

5.) Do you collect sporks?

Nope.

6.) What were your favorite toys as a kid?
WEEBLES WOBBLES BUT THEY DON'T FALL DOWN.

7.) If you had a choice, would you hang out with Frodo or Merry?
I think I would hang out more with Merry. Merry is a younger sort of hobbit and he seems more carefree and ridiculous. Frodo was always a bit more serious about life ,even in the Shire before the Ring changed his world. I love the hobbit and he would be my dear friend but I think I would hang out more with Merry.

8.) In your opinion are ticks worse than spiders?

Yes. Ticks get in under your skin and suck your blood like tiny vampire bugs and I hate them.

9.) Sherlock meets Shawn Spencer, what is the first thing he would deduct?

Shawn Spencer. Insecure, Neurotic. Egotistical. Has serious commitment issues and problems with authority. Liar. Cheater. Rebel. Hates change and facing big problems. Immature and erratic. Illogical. Walks heavily on left leg in an attempt to look cool. Has daddy issues. Is violently in love with strange blond cop. Very clever and stupid at the same time.

10.) Can you list the fifty states?
Bad lip reading

 *taps microphone*
Alabama, and Alaska, Arizona, Arkansas, California, Colorado, Connecticut, and more. Delaware, Florida, Georgia, Hawaii, Idaho, Illinois, Indiana Iowa, only 36 more to go! Next New Hampshire and New Jersey, now way down Mexico, there's New York, North Carolina, North Dakota, Ohio, Oklahoma, Oregon, Pennsylvania, now let's see, Rhode Island, South Carolina, South Dakota, Tennessee. Texas and there's Utah, Vermont, I'm almost through! Virginia and there's Washington and West Virginia, too! Could Wisconsin be the last state or is it 49? No, Wyoming is the last state of the fifty states that rhyme. *DUM DE DE DUUUUUUUUM*

11.) What is your opinion on blue inked pens? Yea or nay?

WE HAVE A GIF FOR PENS
YEA. SO MUCH YEA. I love blue pens! But isn't it infuriating when you're doing school and have used a blue pen for half your test and get up for one freaking second to get lunch and come back and its gone and suddenly black ink pens are the only pens that have ever existed in the history of the planet?? That drives me nuts.

YAY! Time to play tag. I hate playing tag. I don't know who has been tagged yet, so if you were already tagged you don't have to do this.

Kat.

Ivy

.... That is only Five. How many am I supposed to tag?? Eleven. Eleven of you suckers.

Sorry my brain is too dead to think of six more people. You're all on your own.

QUESTIONS.

Do you like Mint?

Have you ever been on a motor boat?

Do you like Cinnamon in your Cocoa?

Have you seen The Court Jester?

Do you write?

Firefox, Chrome, or the Big e?

Do you read comic books?

Do you like Ice skating?

Do you like strawberries and scones?

Fantasy or Action Adventure?

Movies or TV shows?

BISH BASH BOSH DONE!!!!!!!! Goodnight. It's late. I'm tired. Have fun with my tag!

Peace out y'all!!!!

"Thousands of Answers to One Simple Question, Open the Sky for Me Now..."

Jefferson

I'm not sure where this gif came from. But it greatly reflects my present mood. Writing should never hurt this much. But it does. And you know what? I HATE traitors.

I've been editing too long. *crosses eyes*
I been tagged by Jack!. Tagged!!! Tagged. TagGEd. TAgged. TAGGEd. TAgGeD. Yep. Tagged. I'm taking a break from my very important story to accept this tag, so pay attention.

I'm not sure what tag it IS, but I think its the Liebster one again, 'cause you have to do 11 facts and  answer 11 questions and MAKE 11 questions... the usual. Which is, ya' know.....

Fun

I am going to try and do my Eleven Facts without being annoying and witty. Lets see how that goes...
1. I am trying to do Camp NaNo and going crazy.
2. I have cried over my own writing.
3. I act compulsively. And I form a very deep connection with my character.
4. I love finishing a really good book but I hate finishing the last book of a great series.
5. I am still suffering from BUCKY!!! feels.
6. I hate Vegan Chocolate. I want it burnt. And then I want it crushed and burnt again.
7. I love Steve Rodgers and I think he is a very under-rated Avenger.
8. I like soft, fluffy pillows.
9. I think chocolate cake with vanilla icing is DELICIOUS
10. I'm trying to make a music video for Steve and Bucky.
11. I'm stuck trying to write this one chapter in my book and its making me mad.
I DID IT!
source

Now the questions from Jack!! (LalaLala!)

1. How do you feel about main character deaths?
I don't like them. Unless they are done REALLY well and even then I don't like them. They are upsetting and horrible. I HATE it when Authors kill of the main character. I also hate it when they kill off best friends and brothers. But I especially hate Main Character deaths. Don't do it.

 2. What does TADA! mean to you?
Loki

 3. If I walked up to you and yelled, or whispered, HAIL HYDRA! What would you do?
.......I would be really sad, first of all. (Jack, how COULD you?) then I'd probably smack you. Or hit you. Or kill you. I might kill you. I feel in a killing mood right now.

 4. If I gave you a pet duck would you take him for a walk in the park?
I don't know. If its a very nice duck I might.

 5. What was the last book you read that had you either crying, laughing, ready to fall out of your seat, forget how to breathe, or all of the above?
The Shadow Throne!!! I am TOTALLY doing a review on that book! It has given me so many feels! I couldn't have coped if I hadn't had a very nice friend to fangirl and yell with on chat. She has been very nice to me with that. She yells back and that is very helpful.

 6. You would come to a sleep over? We could make a tent out of blankets and sleep on couch cushions thrown on the floor.
I would definitely come to a sleep over!! We could have Icecream and watch The Winter Soldier and cry and scream and then we could yell about Jaron and scream some more because.... TOBIAS!!!! MOTT!!!!!! IMOGEN!!!!! RODEN!!!!

 7. What was the last song you listened to on repeat over and over?
You've got me Down on my Knees
But now I'm trying to Get Up.
You have Torn me Apart, Piece by Ppiece
And now I'm begging You to Stop!
In the mirror I see, You're staring back at me;
I am My Own Worst Enemy!!!!

 8. What was the last movie you saw that... gave you the same emotions I asked about with the book?
The Winter Soldier

It has been more than Four weeks and I am still not over the second Captain America. Do I have a problem? Yes. I have a very serious problem.

 9. Do you think reindeer are better than people?
No. (sorry Kristoff) My best friends are all people *smile*

 10. How do you feel about the giant rats of Somalia?
ROUS's? I don't believe they exist.

 11. When you were a kid did you used to play Cowboys and Indians? (Germans. I mean Cowboys and Germans.) (PLEASE tell me someone got that reference.)
.... Is this a WWII thing? I think it is. During the war didn't boys used to play Cowboys and Germans instead of Cowboys and Indians?? .... But I don't know if that is the reference you wanted me to get. If it isn't, then I'm sorry. I failed you. Does this make us even?

My Questions

1.) If you had a choice would you visit Rivendell or the Shire?
2.) Have you read The Ascendance Trilogy?
3.) Do you tend to like the Villain BETTER than the hero? (This means in everything, mind you)
4.) Are you a Tolkien Purist?
5) Are you a Marvel fan or just an Avengers fan?
6.) What book are you reading RIGHT NOW, and is it good?
7.) What is the first thing that comes to mind when think of trains?
8.) Have you ever had Vegan Chocolate? (If not, don't. DO NOT EVER)
9.) Have you ever cried in the Theatre?
10.) Would you go shopping with me dressed as your favorite Avenger?
11.) Do you think Frozen is overrated?

I know I'm suppose to tag eleven people, but I've already done this whole "Award thing" two or three times now and I feel REALLY BAD re-tagging people. So I'll do five (One of whom is a geek and JUST got a blog  because some of us joined together and yelled at her to get one)

Cait

You are not DUTY BOUND to accept this tag. I will not mope or pout if you quietly forget about it.

With that I'm away!!! *Slides off car*

So it has come to this.........

Okay, I was going to do a review on "The Bells of Saint John" but then I was tagged so I skipped the review. Reviews are hard.
I'm not sure what kind of tag this is

RULES!
Thank the person who nominated you and link back to their sight (THANK YOU JACK)
Post 11 random facts about yourself
answer 11 questions from the blogger who tagged you
Nominate 11 other bloggers  (haha)

11 facts about me

I hate apple pie
I think the color blue is way over rated
I play clarinet
I don't like wearing black
I love Arthur Pendragon
I love Iron Man
I think Monk is brilliant
I hate books about Vampires
I've never been to Boston in the Fall
I'd take the lake over a pool
I really don't like posting facts about myself

Jack's questions

1) The Doctor shows up and asks you to be his companion at the same time Sherlock asks you to be his blogger. Who'd you pick?

The Doctor. Sherlock isn't very nice to his bloggers. Besides, he has John.

 2. In the great Clara debate, who do YOU think she is. (And if you don't know who Clara is...I've two words for you. No, three. Watch Doctor Who.)

(SPOILERS!) I think Clara is an ice person. Oswin was a genius. Her mind, her soul escaped the Dalek and was caught up in the snows of Victorian London. Without her body, Clara could only mirror. What is the first thing she mirrors? The memory of herself. Left in the snow are traces of her mind, or "The Great Intelligence." The real Clara is an ice person who has become human. And she's learned not to melt aka die, So she keeps reappearing in different times throughout history. The Great Intelligence is a memory left in the snow of Clara's mind. Far fetched idea, yes. But you never know. I bet Moffat is going to kill this companion too. He likes doing that.
