Peasants + Flares

I am super proud of myself right now. I was behind 4,000 words in NaNo as of yesterday morning.

By yesterday night I had caught up to 13,740.

THIS IS A BIG ACCOMPLISHMENT OKAY???? A BIG BIG ACCOMPLISHMENT!

CHEER FOR ME PEASANTS!!!!!!!!!!!

On Friday the Amazing Sammie The Friend kidnapped me and kept me for a night at her house. I think she knows I'm a tad stressed. Heh. She wouldn't let me do anything. She basically ordered me to relax and not do anything and she wouldn't let me worry. She's good about that. It's why I love her. She's one of the few people who helps me not worry about the world and all it's cousins. She has a very blunt way of saying things so that you laugh at yourself and feel a lot better once you're done talking with her. We had  home made Mushroom pizza and watched Dean be a Dog and had tea and it was brilliant.

Best friends are brilliant.

After the weekend I woke up feeling better about the universe and the planet earth in general. I was able to do some more writing and practically gave myself a heart attack when I realized I'd caught up. Finally. I'm actually writing and blogging at the same time here. While listening to music. And giving my sister advice on how to set up our newest music video.

Skills. I has them.

Recently my sister let me listen to the song called Flares. It's by The Script.Yeah. I might love it a little bit. A lot. And I may or may not have cried during the refrain. It is one of the most beautiful songs I have ever heard and the lyrics are amazing. I have christened it my song. I don't know. It just reminds me of ...everything. I feel like I can relate to it on a very deep level. (That sounded cheesy but oh well, my blog right?) I've been listening to it a ton since I started NaNo because it reminds me of my characters and it helps me write beautiful words. I just love it.

Did you see the flares in the Sky, were you Blinded by the Light
Did you feel the smoke in your eyes, did ya? Did ya?

I love every aspect of this song. I love how the piano comes in softly and brings the melody with it and how it supports the lyrics and gives you the feeling of standing on a road, looking up and seeing all this light and beauty and somehow finding hope, even when hope is scarce. I find it incredibly inspiring and it is the perfect lyric material for my story. It gets my creativity flowing.

My book. Ah yes. Okay guys. I'm planning a Nano blog party that will start on Nov. 12 and lasts through Nov. 14. (That's Wednesday, Thursday and Friday of next week.) I wanted to know if anyone would be interested in participating. You don't have to be actually doing Nano, just as long as you are working on a book this month you could qualify. Please comment and tell, because I would totally love a fabulous SHOW OFF YOUR BOOK thing. I'll probably do one anyway, just for me. But if there are any of you out there who would like to help or participate, just pop me a comment and we'll see what works best. The more the merrier!!

I MUST NEEDZ TO GO NOW!!!! NANO-ING TO DO! LIVES TO LEAVE! PLANETS TO CONQUER! CAT'S TO DROWN!! SWINGS TO SWING ON!!

Tag + Soldier

So Jack over at However Improbable tagged me with the Writing Process Blog Tour! She didn't list any rules so I am just going to do as she did and start talking about my book and do the tag!!! (Pst: On the topic of books and tags pop over to 'Till the End of the Line and read all about our new Space book!!)

source
1.) What am I working on?

I have several ideas I am juggling right now but at the moment but the book I am focusing on is the Sequel to my book Splintered Courage, which is called Broken Trust.
2.) How does my work differ from others of its genre?

Um, I'm not entirely sure. I suppose the style is very different than most, and so is the style and how I present the story, almost like its in second person. Unlike most fantasies that seem to feature a boy and a girl falling in love, mine is very much centered on friendships and how far loyalty can go, and how to regain trust once it is lost.

3.) Why do I write what I do?
Oh, lots of reasons. I love fantasy and there is something very exciting about being able to tell stories happening in a different world. Also, being able to write friendships has always been something I've wanted to do. (This is why most of my other story ideas our friendship-based, not romantic.)

4.) How does my Writing Process work?I've only been a Real Writer for like, five months, so bare with me here.

I lay sprawled out on my bed, or in a ball on the couch, or outside on the lawn and stare at my blank page, chewing a pencil or staring at my keys, wondering how to start. Then, if its a bad day, I will write for about twenty minutes, on and off, stop for a break, come back, write a bit longer, scroll through pinterest, write, watch youtube videos, attempt to write.... do pinterest some more... stare.... Then slam the computer closed and cry.

if its a good day I can write for a few hours with hardly a break and get lots done. I just need water. and apples cause writing makes me really hungry.

Somehow through all of this I present a story.

DONE!!!!!!!!!!

Well that was a short tag wasn't it? I was expecting this long, long ordeal but it was nice and short. Because I love all of you I am gonna let you hear current favorite song! This is what I've been listening to for the past week because it helps inspire me with my boys. (I might randomly do this every now and then. Hope you don't mind.)

I'll get it if you need it

It comes slow, and It Goes so Fast

Its my 100th post you guys!!!

Thank you, all of you, for sticking with me, for putting up with my fangirling, my ridiculous rants and my crazy ramblings. I really appreciate it.

This is going to be a quick post, but I needed to share this with you, espcially those who were nice enough to send links after my last post ------- I saw Season Three of Sherlock!!!! Yep, all three episodes in a week! I'd call that a bit of a Sherlock overload. I was - I am - on a Sherlock High.

source

It. Was. Freakin'. AMAZING!!!! Moffat really delivered on this one, I have to admit. There wasn't a moment I was overwhelmed with fangirly emotion. It was beyond good. It was.... it was... Spectaculacular!

I was in love with Sherlock and John from their first scene together. I didn't realize how much I missed them until suddenly, there they were!! My favorite consulting Detective and War Doctor back together to battle the world! And, as always, They were remarkable and complicated and brilliant. Friendship stories man, I can't get enough of them. I found myself instantly liking Mary. She is sweet and funny and she is a brilliant match for John and I love that she and Sherlock got along - She was altogether just perfect. The season was perfect. There's nothing like being deprived of Sherlock for a few months to send you over the edge. Its hard though, because even as your watching, you realize its coming to end and its hardly started. The Sherlock Fandom is on a Hiatus 95% of the time. Which means coming off hiatus is a bit much for us....

source

Poor Sherlockians. Why do I always pick the mental fandoms? I think Sherlock is the worst of all though. My other fandoms might be more traumatizing or have more sad episodes, but Sherlock is evil because it flits in for three weeks, messes with your mind and emotions, sends you insane, and then leaves you with a cliff-hanger for a couple years while you freak out waiting for the next season promo. If the waiting doesn't drive you mad then the return will. The real question though, is was the season worth the wait? ..........
.....
.....
.....
.....

I'd say yes. None of the episodes were at all disappointing and Sherlock's returning from the dead was AMAZING! This season had a different feel, but it was different in a good way and I really loved it. John is my hero. Mary is clever and funny. Sherlock is ridiculous but you can't help but love him and sometimes he can be really sweet. He almost made me cry in one of the episodes. He's more... human this time too. I think having to leave John for all that time and having to go into hiding made him realize how much he took for granted. He missed Baker Street. He missed having a home. He missed his friends and he missed being alive. but most of all he missed John Watson, his best and greatest friend. And I firmly believe those years of isolation have brought out the softer side ofSherlock. I quite liked that.

Oh my gosh, I miss Sherlock already, and its only been a few days!! There is a rumor though, that Season 4 is suppose to return Christmas 2014. That's right. This YEAR.
source
I'm not to get my hopes up because this is Moffat, and Moffat lies, but if we really get two seasons in the same year I will be one very ecstatic fangirl.

source
I'll leave you with one of my favorite songs. It reminds me a lot of Sherlock and John and just the season Finale on a whole. I almost cried when I listened to it with them in mind.....

It's everything you wanted, it's everything you don't
It's one door swinging open and one door swinging closed
Some prayers find an answer,
Some prayers never know
We're holding on,
And Letting Go

That's all till next time!

God Bless!

"I love old places. They make me sad."

Day Twenty-Two. A song you listen to when your sad.

When I'm sad I listen to many types of music. But usually I like something a bit wild, or lighthearted because that helps me deal with my sadness. I feel better listening to happy music when I'm depressed because listening to sad music when sad just makes me sadder. When I'm especially upset I'll turn up my music really loud and then I'll just lay down on my bed with my favorite stuffed animal and shut out the world, blocking everything from my mind except the song in my CD player.
image
I listen to so many different songs when I'm sad that I couldn't figure out how to narrow it down to one. Than I decided to do a song I've grown absurdly addicted to and have turned on whenever I feel down and depressed. I listen to it and it cheers me up, it make me happy again. I've taken to listening to it on a daily basis.
 Demons

This song has become a real favorite of mine for many reasons, but one in particular. Someone once made the mistake of asking why I liked Demons. Okay, for one thing its got a good beat, a great feel, a fantastic refrain and reminds me of  two VERY awesome hunters. I'm going to go a bit rogue and post exactly what I want and show exactly what I think when listening to this song. Don't judge me.

When the days are cold, and the cards all fold
And the saints we see are all made of gold
When your dreams all fail and the ones we hail
Are the worst of all and the blood’s run stale

I wanna hide the truth, I wanna shelter you
But with the beast inside, there’s nowhere we can hide
No matter what we breed, we still are made of greed
This is my kingdom come, this is my kingdom come

When you feel my heat
Look into my eyes

It’s where my demons hide
It’s where my demons hide

Don’t get too close
It’s dark inside

It's where my demons hide
it's where my demons hide

They say it's what you make
I say it's up to fate

It's woven in my soul
I need to let you go

Your eyes, they shine so bright
I wanna save that light
I can't escape this now
Unless you show me how

So that's my song for the day!! I hoped you all liked it and didn't mind the random sprout of gifs. I was feeling moody today felt like getting a little fangirly. Did I chose this particular song just to post a bunch of random Sam and Dean pictures? well... yes. But even without the Winchester insensitive I would have shared the song. I just took advantage of the lyrics is all. Those lyrics are just so Sam and Dean! I couldn't resist.*Smiles sheepishly* No judging!

Goot-bye now y'all. I shall return!

God Bless!
