Dum-de-de-dum-dum-dum!

No but really. It's been way too long.

I am so bad about blogging. It's terrible. I'm not even worthy to be called a blogger. Like... I hope one day to be a blogger.
So here I am, trying to blog. Have patience with me.

How was your Thanksgiving? Our was lovely. My house always gets loud and kind of crazy on the Holidays. We set up the dining room with China and special folded napkins and we made sure all the settings had these special name-tags, because that's always fun. And we had three-times as many settings as normal because it's Thanksgiving.,As a final touch we hung up a "Happy Thanksgiving!" sign above the table. And we made traditional turkey and stuffing, and we pulled out the drinks with special Apple Cider for the younger girls. Dinner was really when the fun began. We had one of those giant family dinners where everyone waves their hands and shouts to make themselves heard and there are like, five conversations going at once. And then someone goes "SHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHH!" and the whole table starts saying "SHHHHHHHHHHHHHHH!" and everyone gets a little quieter for like, five seconds, and then up goes the volume again, and within minutes the table is just as loud as before, until another sister waves her hands and says "SHHHHHHHHH!!!!"

We'd give the Hogwarts dinner hall a run for its money.

After dinner, Mahri made a fabulous cake for desert, and we all had coffee and watched Holiday Inn. Just like we do every year. (If you haven't watched that, I highly recommend it. Bing Crosby sings the best version of White Christmas.) While we ate desert, we listened to our first Christmas song of the year; O, Holy Night By Nat King Cole. Then we watched the version Josh Groban did 2007. I love that version because the year it was performed, everyone was really pushing the whole "Happy Holidays" crap. All the songs on the radio were those fluffy, feel-good songs (Like Frost the Snowman) and those are fine usually, but when you hear nothing about Christ, or any of the other classic Christmas music, and everyone is trying to take God out of your CATHOLIC HOLIDAY, and make it politically correct, you start to hate those songs. Frosty was not a happy, jolly soul! He melted!! *angry Bella noises*  But then, just when you were fed up with everything and you wanted to smash the radio in half and hit the people who said "Happy Holidays" with those annoying smiles... THEN, Josh Groban stepped up and performed O, Holy Night. I remember we were Christmas shopping and it came on it Walmart, and we all just stopped for a minute. And I remember getting all thrilled, cause it was a shock to hear a song like that in a store. And Mom was like, "I think this is the first real Christmas song I've heard in public all year."

Then, when we checked out, we said "Merry Christmas," and the Checker smiled really big and said, "Merry Christmas!" back. It was a beautiful night. Josh Groban kind of saved Christmas that year.

How was your Thanksgiving? Do you have any nice traditions? What are they?

I want to blog again soon, but I don't want to load you with an information dump, so I think I will go for the night. Happy (late) Thanksgiving! Peace out y'all!!!

*swings around cape and leaps off stage.*

A Bit of this and That.

And that's the song that's been stuck in my head all day. I'm a bit stir-crazy because I've been doing Math all day and have decided it doesn't matter how long it takes Roger to get there or how long it is until Pamela catches up, so long as they get to there destination. Where are they going that's so important I should waste my time on them anyway?

Anyway, before I get posting I have to tell you all some very sad news.

My computer is never coming back. ever. Its gone, gone, gone, gone, ruined beyond fixing. Apparently what the virus did was so terrible It burned everything. nothing was saved not even the stories or music.

Meaning I last 1/3 of the NaNo story I was writing on.

I hate to break this to you, but I don't think I'm gonna reach my word count this year. There's nothing like losing Eight thousand words to freak you out a little bit. I got super depressed. It didn't settle in for a while, I was like, "Whatever, its just a story. I'll write it again, I remember well enough." But then it hit me good and hard, once the cold shock which sent me into calm mode went away.

MY BOOKS WERE GONE! Books as in plural. I hate more than one story on there. Pretty brilliant ones too. And they're gone. It was like losing a friend.
Then I realized this meant I had to work on a borrowed computer for........

Well, a very long time at least. Its not like a lap top is going to magically appear right??

All this means, I'm not going to be able to post so often. Maybe twice, three times a week.

I was so depressed I had to curl up with a blanket and lose myself in a book.

The book I got lost in is called The Castaways of the Flying Dutchmen. Its by Brian Jaques. I've read it before, but it was so long ago I don't remember much about it. Reading it again is like visiting a long missed friend, like stepping into the town you grew up in. Its familiar and has a nice, homey feeling, but it also has a nice, expectant feeling. I'm loving it so far, and I think you should all try it.

I was going to blog about my FABULOUS Thanksgiving, but none of the amazing pictures we took our showing up on Blogger. BLOGGER WHY YOU DO THIS TO ME??? So you'll just have to take my word that it was brilliant! We ate, drank and were merry. We played a rousing game of Crack the Case, solved a murder or two, waved our hands over who was right and then joined the land of the living for dinner. The family dinners my family has on Thanksgiving are the third best of the year. We're pretty epic at the dinner table. You should hear our conversations. Of course, the dishes are quite horrific, but if you just whistle while you work its done in a jiffy.

Lame?

Then my amazing big sister brought out the Surprise Desert about which she had been talking about all night. And we squealed ridiculously. When the dishes were put away, we feasted on chocolate reeses peanut butter cups that were like.... HUGE. And luscious.

Weep my friends, weep.

With desert we watched Holiday Inn with Bing Crosby and Fred Astaire. It is one of my favorite Christmas-like movie because it sort of starts off the Christmas season.

I love this movie, it always gives me a nice, achy feeling inside. Its our tradition, to watch it every year on Thanksgiving, and its what really marks the beginning of the Christmas season. At least for us. Its when we start preparing for Advent, planning for presents, writing up chores to earn money for said gifts, and start playing the Christmas music. That's the best part of Thanksgiving. Playing "Oh Holy Night" for the first time in months and getting that Christmas spirit in your blood. My dad always plays Nat King Coles version first. That's how its always been, I don't remember a Thanksgiving when we didn't turn it on. After that we turn on Josh Groban. Because Thanksgiving isn't compete until we listen to Josh.

I like Josh's version a bit better, but maybe that's just because I'm such a fan of his. Its the Fall on your knees, bit that chokes me up.

We finished the night off with coffee and highly enthusiastic talking and stumbled off to bed, well into the night, humming Oh Holy Night and duly prepared for the month of December.

Well, goodnight then. Sleep well. I'll try posting again, soo-nish.

God Bless!

A song from your favorite album

I have absolutely no idea how to begin this post. I've gotten into a bad habit of saying "So." or "Today" or "Guess what!" all of which are incredibly redundant and usually lead to long, misfit sentences of mindless rambling. Sort of like what you just read. I need to find a new way to begin my posts. So....

Anyone want an Oreo? Oh. Well you're not getting one! Mwahahahahahaha!!!

Okay, I'm starting over. *removes tension from hands*

Hello friends in Cyberspace! I've missed you since yesterday when the world ended.

I get to share a song with you today, I really fun exciting song that no one has yet heard! Yeah, I bet you didn't see that coming!!

Well, I do try .... *ehem*  A song from my favorite album!

*Boom, Boom, Boom*

BRAVE!!

Hold on, hold on so strong, time just carries on
All that you thought was wrong is pure again
You can't hide forever from the thunder
Look into the storm and feel the rain

This is a song from Josh Groban's album, All That Echoes.  I absolutely adore it. The lyrics are beautifully written and the music set behind them is just gorgeous. How could it not be? Its Josh! But really, This song  makes me feel strong and inspired and full of life. Like I can take on the world and no matter what happens I can overcome everything! I can be brave!
....................

Yeah that was lame. :-3 But it was a good try yeah?

Anyway, that's about all I have for you. My blogging rut has become a canyon of endless lyrics and song. Sorry all you loyal followers. I know what you go through for me. I appreciate it, I really do. You're all brilliant and I promise I will never do this to you again. Never ever. Promise.

God Bless!

When you stand up and hold out your hand/ In the face what I don't understand/ My reason to be brave....

A Song that Reminds you of an event.

Once again I'm going to post a Josh Groban song; this song reminds me of the night I went to go see him and got a whole night of his music live. It was one of the best days I've ever had. He actually walked right past our row and sang just steps away from our seat. It was amazing.
I want to free your heart
I want to see your heart
Please don’t keep your heart hidden away
I love Josh :)

I promise you'll get a real post from me soon. For now, toda-la. Don't forget to enter my Giveaway, the end is nigh!

God Bless

You’re a wonder, how bright you shine /A flickering candle in a short lifetime/ A secret dreamer that never shows/ If no one sees you then nobody knows

A song that reminds you of somewhere

Day 6 of the Song challenge; A song that reminds you of somewhere. At first I wasn't sure what to do but then this song started playing in the living room... and I couldn't post anything else.

My heart was Home Again
Then I saw your face across the stream
and my heart was home again

This song reminds me of the mountains, of my home. I can remember singing along with this song coming home from Mass, and seeing the Lake through the trees just as it ended. So I always get a warm fuzzy feeling when I think of it.

Bye now! :)

God Bless

And I remember everything/ and every window pane/ and every word came back to me the way it used to be/ then I saw your face/ across the stream/ and my heart was home again/

"Oh not that song Papa, that makes me cry!"

Day Four of the song challenge! A song that makes you cry.

Happy In My Heartache

I don't take it lightly,The trouble that I've gone through,to get you to know who I am
Oh and I, I can't find a reason to be happy in this heartache
'Cause I should know better than that. I'm better than that

This song always makes me cry. Every time I listen to it. Part of the reason is because one time I saw it to a music video for The Doctor and The Ponds. and it broke my heart. But even before that It would make me cry. It just chokes me up inside and before I know it I need a tissue. Josh tends to have that effect on me. *sigh*

Before I go, I want to tell all of you that I've moved the date for my giveaway to October 10th. Again, anyone who wants to enter go right ahead. You can find the rules here :)

And now off I go to watch boxing robots!! REAL STEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEL!!!!!!

God Bless!

Wicked winds Are blowing Through the Halls/ These old Familiar faces Are clinging to The Walls/
I know It's cold But I can't Feel At all/ And I know These walls Are Crumbling, And I Won't Stay to Watch them Fall.......
